Shirts

Many persons are confronted by a mass of options when they go shopping. Of course, there are heaps of options available when shopping for men’s shirts. Shirts for men worn on dressy occasions are generally collared, full-length (collar to hem) opened-front shirts with cuffs on the sleeve. The front part of the shirt is designed with buttons or studs and coloured cuff links or buttons are used to close the opening on the cuffs. For the men’s formal shirts, a lot of them wear jackets and ties on these occasions.  The dress shirts, also referred to as button down shirts offers a more casual look without the jacket and tie.

In the past, men’s formal shirts were made from natural fibers which include cotton, linen, silk, wool or ramie. More recently, artificial fibers are the material of choice when making dress shirts. This includes low cost polyester blends or polyester. Men’s shirts that are made from linen makes the material cool but it wrinkles a great deal. Cotton is the standard fabric used in the manufacture of men’s designer shirts.

One of the men’s formal shirts considered to be more expensive is the button down collar, long-sleeve shirt. These are available in various colours and designs. It also sleek, lightweight and has crisp lines. It is frequently worn under sports jackets and suits and most times accompanied by a necktie. It can be tailored to go well with all the curves of the body.

Other features that are of significance when choosing men’s designer shirts, include the pattern the style and of course the colour. Men’s formal shirts in the Edwardian era were all only white in colour. Little by little other colours such as blue as well as lighter colours like Wedgewood were initiated.  The popular colours for men’s shirts in this new age include various colours such as a range of bright and dark shades and colours.

There are various styles of men’s shirts; these include the general full-cut men’s dress shirt, the tailored-made men’s designer shirts, the workwear shirts, and the ones with the athletic cut. Corporate shirts are designed mainly to be worn to the workplace as uniforms, in the military as well as the blue collar jobs. The collar designs of these shirts for men include the usual straight collar and the collar design displaying the modern spread.

SPORTS SHIRTS: The men’s sports shirts are available in both short and long sleeves. It is similar to a dress shirt with long sleeves but it fits more loosely. It goes great with jeans and is frequently worn instead of the dress shirts that are expensive when being worn under a suit.
